The City of Everett issues and inspects electrical permits inside city limits; it is one of the Washington cities that runs its own electrical program, and applications go through its online permitting portal, with plan review for some jobs (Everett Permit Services). Homes outside city limits with an Everett address go through Washington L&I. We pull the required permits for our work.
Before any service upgrade, the PUD has to be consulted, and it needs an approved permit before it re-energizes the new service. When added panel capacity means a bigger meter or transformer, the PUD charges a Meter and Transformer Fee. We handle the PUD coordination as part of the job.
Plenty of older Everett homes still run on 60- or 100-amp services and panels with few open spaces. That is often fine until you add a heat pump, an EV charger or a new kitchen. Warning signs include breakers that trip under normal use, warm or buzzing panels, two-prong outlets and lights that dim when a large appliance starts. We check the panel and the load before recommending anything and explain what can stay.
Snohomish County PUD's EV charger rebate ended December 31, 2025, and the federal 30C credit ended June 30, 2026, so there is no utility EV charger rebate in Everett right now. We currently offer $200 off an EV charger install and $200 off an electrical panel upgrade. For the bigger projects, see panel upgrades, EV charger installation and standby generators.
In September 2026 an Everett homeowner (98201) needed the 20-amp breaker for a new water heater swapped to the 30-amp breaker it required, and the microwave outlet had stopped working. Our electrician confirmed the existing #10 wire could carry 30 amps, installed the new breaker, traced the dead microwave outlet to a broken hot wire at its terminal and repaired it, then relabeled the panel so every circuit matched what it powers.
An upfront price before any work begins, a $179 visit that includes 30 minutes of diagnosis, electricians who carry common breakers and devices, and one company for your electrical, heating, cooling and plumbing. Since 1977.

Not always. We check your panel and load first; sometimes a load-managed circuit works, sometimes the service needs an upgrade. Panel and service work needs a permit and the utility.
These older panels are widely replaced. We inspect the panel and give you a written price to replace it if needed; we install Square D, Eaton and Siemens panels and smart panels.
Yes, Generac and other major generator brands. Generator maintenance is $465, and we currently offer $1,000 off generators.

Yes, when the service changes. The PUD has to be consulted before service work and needs an approved permit before it re-energizes. It charges a Meter and Transformer Fee when you add panel capacity.

Washington lets homeowners do some electrical work on a home they own and live in, with a permit; inside Everett the City issues it, outside city limits L&I does. For anything you would rather not do yourself, we quote the price before any work begins.
