My house is near the water. Does that change anything?
Homes close to Sinclair Inlet and on the lower slopes can have higher groundwater, damp crawlspaces and saltier air that is hard on exposed metal. We look at crawlspace moisture, sump pumps and the condition of exposed fittings when we are there.
What should I do if a pipe bursts?
Close the main water shutoff, turn off power or gas to the water heater, and move valuables out of the way. Then call us. It helps to know where your main shutoff is before you need it.
How long does a water heater last?
Tank water heaters usually last 10 to 15 years; tankless units often last longer with regular flushing. If a tank is leaking from the tank itself, it needs replacement.
