Rebates for replacing electric baseboard heat (updated September 2026)
Electric baseboard homes get the biggest heat pump rebates in western Washington, because every major utility pays more to move homes off electric resistance heat. The amount depends on your electric utility, the system type and, for some programs, your income. The federal 25C tax credit ended for equipment installed after December 31, 2025.

Ductless or ducted: which baseboard conversion fits your home?
A ductless mini-split fits most baseboard homes because it needs no ductwork; a ducted heat pump only makes sense when the home already has ducts or has space to add them, such as an accessible attic or crawlspace.

How many ductless heads does a baseboard home need?
A baseboard home usually needs one indoor head for each main room or open living zone, and a room-by-room load calculation (ACCA Manual J) sets the number and size of the heads.
