Duvall cooling rebates (updated September 2026)
Air conditioners that only cool do not qualify for PSE rebates, but heat pumps that replace your heating system often do. Amounts were taken from PSE’s pages in September 2026 and can change.
- PSE Duvall Heat Pump Program: up to $8,000 for qualifying PSE natural gas customers in eligible Duvall-area neighborhoods who replace gas heat with a heat pump (PSE Duvall Heat Pump Program).
- Hybrid heat pump: $1,500, plus up to $2,400 more for income-qualified homes (PSE hybrid heat pump rebate).
- Electric resistance to heat pump: $1,500, plus up to $2,400 more for income-qualified homes (PSE electric resistance to heat pump rebate).
PSE requires a PSE Trade Ally or Recommended Energy Professional for these rebates. Sizing and installing cooling in a Duvall home
We size every new system with a room-by-room load calculation (Manual J) instead of matching the old unit. Oversized equipment cools the air quickly but leaves the house clammy and cycles on and off; undersized equipment runs all afternoon and still falls behind in a heat wave.
We also check the ducts, the electrical panel and where the outdoor unit will sit. On lower properties near the valley floor, where winter flooding is possible, we set the outdoor unit on a raised pad or bracket. Efficiency is rated in SEER2 for cooling and HSPF2 for heat pump heating; higher numbers mean lower operating cost.

Service your air conditioner or heat pump once a year, in spring before the first hot week. Most summer no-cooling calls trace back to parts a tune-up would have caught: a weak capacitor, a clogged condensate drain or a coil packed with cottonwood fluff and dust.
During a tune-up we clean the outdoor coil and check the fan, measure refrigerant pressures and temperature split, test the capacitor and contactor, flush the condensate drain and replace or recommend the right filter. Keeping cool air clean during smoke season
Wildfire smoke drifts into the Puget Sound region in many late summers, and that is often when the air conditioner runs hardest. A tighter filter, such as MERV 11 to 13 where your blower can handle it, captures more fine particles as the system circulates air. Keep windows closed on smoky days and run the fan on a low setting to keep air moving through the filter.
If your system cannot take a thicker filter without losing airflow, we can add a media filter cabinet or a standalone air cleaner. We check static pressure first, so a better filter does not strain the blower.
