Home Comfort Alliance designs, installs and repairs residential heat pumps in Duvall, from whole-home ducted systems to single-room ductless mini splits. Technicians and comfort advisors come from our Redmond branch, and every project starts with a free in-home estimate and a written, itemized proposal.
Duvall is a small Snoqualmie Valley town on SR 203, with homes spread from downtown and Main Street to the Lake Rasmussen area, Cherry Valley and the subdivisions on the hill above the valley floor. Puget Sound Energy provides both power and gas here, and PSE has picked the Duvall area for its own heat pump incentive, so few places in the region have more help available for switching to a heat pump.
What to expect: a heat pump gives you heating and air conditioning from one outdoor unit. Whether you heat with gas, an electric furnace or baseboards today, there is a PSE rebate path we can check for your address.
| If you heat with… | Program to check (as of September 2026) | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| PSE natural gas (furnace, wall heater or boiler) | PSE Duvall Heat Pump Program, ZIP 98019 and 98014 | Up to $8,000 |
| PSE gas and you want to keep the furnace | PSE hybrid heat pump rebate | $1,500, plus up to $2,400 Efficiency Boost |
| Electric furnace, baseboards or wall heaters | PSE electric resistance to heat pump rebate | $1,500, plus up to $2,400 Efficiency Boost |
Sources: PSE Duvall Heat Pump Program; PSE hybrid heat pump rebate; PSE electric resistance to heat pump rebate. Efficiency Boost is for qualifying households. The Duvall program requires the gas equipment to be removed or decommissioned, an AHRI-certified heat pump, electric resistance backup disabled, and an application within 30 days of install.
Every one of these requires a PSE Trade Ally or registered installer. Home Comfort Alliance is a PSE Trade Ally approved contractor for HVAC systems, and we prepare the rebate forms with you. The federal 25C tax credit ended December 31, 2025.
Duvall has no published cost survey of its own, so these are regional estimates from Seattle-area data.
| Efficiency tier | Installed cost range |
|---|---|
| Standard (14 to 15 SEER) | $3,160 to $6,670 |
| High efficiency (16 to 18 SEER) | $6,670 to $13,850 |
| Premium (19+ SEER) | $13,850 to $20,000 |
| Seattle-area average | About $10,218 |

A furnace or baseboard heater turns fuel or electricity straight into heat. A heat pump uses electricity to move heat that is already in the outdoor air, so for most of the heating season it delivers several units of heat for each unit of electricity it uses. The biggest drop in bills comes in homes leaving baseboards, wall heaters or an electric furnace, because that is the most expensive way to heat. Gas homes save less on heating, but gain air conditioning and, in the Duvall area, access to the largest incentive PSE offers.
The savings only show up if the system is sized and set up well. A heat pump that is too small leans on backup heat; one that is too big short-cycles. We run a room-by-room load calculation, check duct static pressure on ducted jobs, and set the thermostat so backup heat, where it exists, runs only when the heat pump truly can’t keep up.
If your home still has the electrical panel it was built with, it is worth checking before you buy. Most heat pumps need a dedicated 240-volt circuit, and switching from gas can add load. We check panel capacity at the estimate visit. If an upgrade or a load-management device is needed, it is priced on its own line and permitted through L&I, so there are no surprises on install day.
Where the outdoor unit goes affects noise, efficiency and how long it lasts. We keep it off the ground on a pad or wall bracket, away from roof drip lines and bedroom windows, and with room for air to flow on all sides. Because the valley floor around Duvall floods in the wet months, homes on low ground get the outdoor unit and its disconnect mounted higher so standing water can’t reach them.
The City of Duvall requires a permit for heat pumps, furnaces and air conditioners (City of Duvall, Permit Required), and Washington L&I issues the electrical permit (L&I, cities that do their own electrical permits). We take care of both.
We repair and maintain heat pumps of most major brands, including systems installed by other companies. Typical calls: the unit ices up and won’t defrost, the house won’t warm up, the system blows cool air on heat, or a ductless head shows an error code. We diagnose first and give a written quote before repairs. A yearly service visit, clean filters and a clear space around the outdoor unit keep a heat pump running at its rated efficiency.
We support the manufacturer’s warranty on covered equipment parts, and we stand behind our heat pump installations with a 1-year labor warranty from installation.
Join our Home Comfort Club, a monthly membership starting at $15 a month, and a new system we install gets extended labor coverage for as long as your membership stays active, up to 5 years from installation. Ask your technician or comfort advisor for the current plan details.
Up to $8,000 as of September 2026, for eligible PSE natural gas single-family customers in the Duvall area (ZIP 98019 and 98014) who replace gas heat with an AHRI-certified heat pump installed by a PSE Trade Ally or registered installer.
Seattle-area data shows most installs between $3,160 and $13,850 depending on size and efficiency, with an average around $10,218 (Angi, July 2026). Rebates reduce your share. Our estimate is free and itemized.
Yes. Home Comfort Alliance is a PSE Trade Ally approved contractor for HVAC systems and for water heaters, which PSE requires for its heating rebates.
Yes. Cold-climate heat pumps keep heating well below freezing. The Duvall program requires electric resistance backup to be disabled, so we size those systems to carry the whole load.
Yes. The City of Duvall requires a permit for heat pump installation, and the electrical permit comes from Washington L&I. We pull both.
Yes, including ducted and ductless systems from most major brands.
Yes. Ductless mini splits are made for that. One outdoor unit can serve several indoor heads, so the main living area and bedrooms each get their own temperature control, and the PSE electric resistance to heat pump rebate may apply if your power is from PSE.
With yearly service and clean filters, most heat pumps last around 15 years. Skipped maintenance, heavy moss and poor placement shorten that, which is why we take care where the outdoor unit goes.
We support the manufacturer’s warranty on covered equipment parts, and our labor warranty covers installations for 1 year from installation. Home Comfort Club members (monthly membership starting at $15 a month) with a new system installed by Home Comfort Alliance get extended labor coverage for as long as their membership stays active, up to 5 years from installation.
