Home Comfort Alliance repairs and maintains furnaces, heat pumps and ductless systems for Duvall homes from our Redmond branch. When a system is at the end of its life, we also replace it, with gas, heat pump and hybrid options priced side by side and PSE rebates checked before you decide.
Duvall sits above the Snoqualmie Valley on SR 203, and a lot of its houses date from the 1980s and 1990s. A gas furnace usually lasts 15 to 20 years, so many homes from those decades are on their second furnace or deciding what should replace it. Call (425) 645-0404 or use the form above to book a visit.
Most furnace repairs in the Seattle area cost $139 to $544, with an average of $341, according to Angi, Seattle furnace repair costs, updated August 2026. Heat pump and HVAC repairs follow a similar pattern, averaging about $350 nationally (Angi, HVAC repair costs, 2026 data). These are regional and national estimates, not Home Comfort Alliance prices, and a trip fee applies to service visits.
| Low | Typical | High | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Furnace repair (Seattle estimate) | $139 | $341 | $544 |
| Furnace repair, full range | $97 | $2,000 |
| Part | Range |
|---|---|
| Flame sensor | $160 to $270 |
| Burners | $160 to $490 |
| Blower motor | $160 to $2,160 |
| Heat exchanger | $110 to $1,620 |
| Coils | $650 to $2,160 |
| Tune-up with cleaning | $125 to $200 |
If a carbon monoxide alarm sounds, leave the house, call 911 from outside, and do not run the furnace until it has been checked.

Repair a system that is under about 15 years old when the problem is a single part. Replace it when it is 15 to 20 years or older, the repair costs more than a third of a new system, or it has needed several repairs in two years.
| Situation | Usual recommendation |
|---|---|
| Under 10 years, single part failed | Repair |
| 10 to 15 years, moderate repair | Repair, and start planning |
| 15 to 20 years or older, major repair | Replace |
| Cracked heat exchanger | Replace (safety issue) |
| Several repairs in two years | Replace |
When replacement makes sense, we price a like-for-like gas furnace, an all-electric heat pump and a hybrid system so you can compare. See our Duvall pages for furnace replacement and heat pump installation, and our repair vs. replacement cost comparison.
Duvall homeowners on PSE natural gas have access to one of the largest heat pump incentives in the region. Amounts were taken from PSE’s pages in September 2026 and can change.
These PSE rebates require installation by a PSE Trade Ally or Recommended Energy Professional. Home Comfort Alliance is a PSE Trade Ally contractor for HVAC systems and water heaters, so we can install qualifying equipment and help you with the rebate paperwork. The federal 25C tax credit ended for equipment placed in service after December 31, 2025.

Duvall winters are long and damp more than they are bitterly cold, so the heat runs for months at a time. That favors heat pumps, which heat efficiently in the 30s and 40s where Duvall spends most of the winter. On colder nights, a cold-climate heat pump or a hybrid system with a gas furnace keeps output up.
On lower properties near the valley floor, where flooding is possible from late fall to early spring, we pay attention to where the outdoor unit and any crawlspace equipment sit, and raise pads or relocate equipment when it makes sense.
Service your furnace or heat pump once a year, ideally in early fall before the first cold snap. A tune-up is the best way to avoid a no-heat call in January and to keep the manufacturer warranty valid.
On a gas furnace, we clean and check the burners and flame sensor, test the igniter, inducer and safety switches, measure the temperature rise and check the venting. On a heat pump or ductless system, we clean the coils and filters, check refrigerant pressures and the defrost cycle, and test the backup heat. On both, we replace or recommend the right filter and check that air moves freely through the ducts.
A tune-up typically costs $125 to $200 in the Seattle area (Angi, Seattle furnace repair costs, updated August 2026). See our heating and cooling maintenance page.
We support the manufacturer’s warranty on covered equipment parts, and we stand behind our heating installations and repairs with a 1-year labor warranty from installation.
Join our Home Comfort Club, a monthly membership starting at $15 a month, and a new system we install gets extended labor coverage for as long as your membership stays active, up to 5 years from installation. Ask your technician or comfort advisor for the current plan details.
Seattle-area furnace repairs average about $341, with most between $139 and $544, according to Angi (August 2026). Major parts such as a blower motor or coil can run into the low thousands. That is a regional estimate, not our price; a trip fee applies to service visits and you get a written price before work starts.
Repair when the furnace is under about 15 years old and the fix is a single part such as an igniter, flame sensor or inducer motor. Consider replacement when it is 15 to 20 years or older, needs a heat exchanger or control board, or has needed several repairs in two years.
Yes, for many homes. PSE’s Duvall Heat Pump Program offers up to $8,000 to qualifying PSE natural gas customers in eligible Duvall-area neighborhoods who replace gas heat with a heat pump, installed by a PSE Trade Ally or Recommended Energy Professional (PSE, September 2026).
A hybrid system adds a heat pump to your existing gas furnace. The heat pump handles most of the heating and the furnace takes over in the coldest weather. PSE offers $1,500 for a qualifying hybrid system, plus up to $2,400 more for income-qualified homes (September 2026).
Yes. The City of Duvall requires a permit for furnaces, air conditioners and heat pumps. Any new electrical circuit is permitted separately through Washington L&I.
In heating mode, a heat pump’s air feels warm but not hot, often around 90°F at the register. Cool air can also mean the system is in defrost, the thermostat is set wrong, or refrigerant is low. If it lasts more than a few minutes, call for service.
Once a year, before the heating season. A tune-up cleans burners or coils, checks safety controls and airflow, and catches worn parts before they fail on a cold night.
Yes. We repair and maintain gas furnaces, electric furnaces, heat pumps and ductless systems from all major manufacturers.
No. The federal 25C credit ended for equipment placed in service after December 31, 2025. PSE rebates are still available.
We support the manufacturer’s warranty on covered equipment parts, and our labor warranty covers installations for 1 year from installation. Home Comfort Club members (monthly membership starting at $15 a month) with a new system installed by Home Comfort Alliance get extended labor coverage for as long as their membership stays active, up to 5 years from installation.
