Which setup fits your Monroe home

An inverter model varies its compressor speed to match the load, so it runs longer at low output, holds temperature more evenly, keeps more capacity in cold weather and uses less electricity. For a home that will rely on the heat pump for most of its heat, inverter models are usually worth it; we price both so you can compare the net cost after rebate.
Backup heat and cold snaps
Every heat pump design includes a plan for the coldest nights. In an all-electric home, backup resistance strips in the air handler switch on only when the heat pump cannot keep up or during defrost. In a dual-fuel home, the gas furnace takes over below a set outdoor temperature. We set that switchover point with you, and set up the thermostat so backup heat is not triggered by large morning setbacks, which quietly erase much of the savings.
Steam rising from the outdoor unit on a cold, damp morning is the defrost cycle at work, and it is normal. A unit encased in ice that does not clear is not.
Electrical and site planning
A heat pump needs a dedicated 240-volt circuit and an outdoor disconnect. Older 100-amp panels may need a load calculation or an upgrade before adding one, especially if an EV charger is also planned. Our electricians handle this as part of the same job. Outdoor units are set on a raised pad or wall bracket so they sit above the water that pools around Monroe foundations in winter, with clearance for airflow and service.
