Galvanized pipe in older Renton homes
Galvanized steel supply pipe was common in homes built before the 1960s. Over decades it corrodes from the inside, and the signs are predictable:

Drains and main drain lines
Many older Renton neighborhoods have mature trees, and roots find their way into aging clay and concrete sewer lines.
