Home Comfort Alliance replaces and installs gas, electric and dual fuel furnaces in Snohomish, from homes inside city limits to rural properties in the 98290 and 98296 ZIP codes. Our Everett branch serves Snohomish, and every installation starts with a free in-home estimate and a room-by-room load calculation (ACCA Manual J), so the new furnace is sized for your house rather than copied from the old one.
We pull the required permits for every installation, give you a written, upfront price before any work begins, and back new installations with a 3-year Comfort Shield labor warranty, kept active with yearly maintenance. First-year maintenance is included.
Most gas furnaces last about 15 to 20 years. Replacement usually makes more sense than another repair when:

| Option | Best for | What to know in Snohomish |
|---|---|---|
| High-efficiency gas furnace (95% AFUE or more) | Homes on PSE natural gas | Vents through PVC pipe and needs a condensate drain; we plan the vent route before quoting. |
| Standard gas furnace (80% AFUE) | Replacing an 80% unit in a chimney-vented basement or garage | Lower upfront cost; the existing vent must be checked and lined if needed. |
| Electric furnace | All-electric homes on Snohomish PUD | No gas or venting, but higher running costs. A heat pump with electric backup often costs less to run. |
| Dual fuel (gas furnace plus heat pump) | Gas homes that want lower bills and cooling | The heat pump does most of the heating; the furnace takes over on the coldest days. PSE pays $1,500 for adding one. |

The price depends on your home's heating needs, the furnace type and efficiency, venting and gas line work, duct changes and where the furnace is installed. Get a price range in about 30 seconds with our free instant quote tool, then a technician confirms the exact price on a free site visit.

Snohomish homes get natural gas from Puget Sound Energy and electricity from Snohomish County PUD. As of October 2026, neither utility offers a rebate for a gas furnace on its own, but both pay toward heat pumps:
| Program | Amount | Who qualifies |
|---|---|---|
| PSE hybrid heat pump | $1,500 | PSE gas customers adding a ducted heat pump to a gas furnace, installed by a PSE Trade Ally |
| PSE Efficiency Boost | $2,400 | Income-qualified PSE customers, on top of the hybrid rebate |
| PSE moderate-income fuel switch | $4,000 | Income-qualified PSE gas customers replacing gas heat with a heat pump |
| Snohomish PUD ducted heat pump | $1,800 (conversion) or $2,500 (inverter-driven) | Homes heated mainly by electricity, installed by a PUD Trade Ally |
Home Comfort Alliance is an approved contractor for PSE and Snohomish PUD, and we handle the PSE rebate paperwork for you. The federal 25C tax credit ended for equipment installed after December 31, 2025. See all rebates.
In October, a Snohomish homeowner called us about a newly installed gas furnace and heat pump system, put in by another company, that would not heat properly. Its Nest thermostat had reset and the installer could not help. Our technician finished the setup, tested the system and found the thermostat would not call the heat pump. With the homeowner's approval he replaced it with an ecobee thermostat and ran the system in both heating and cooling.
It is a good reminder that controls matter as much as the equipment: on every installation we set up the thermostat for your system before we leave.

Snohomish mixes older homes near downtown with newer subdivisions and rural properties, and the furnace sits everywhere from basements and garages to crawlspaces and attics. Before we quote, we check how the old furnace vents, whether the gas line and electrical circuit suit the new equipment, and whether the ducts in a damp crawlspace need sealing or repair.
Homes heated with an electric furnace on Snohomish PUD are often good candidates for a ducted heat pump instead, which qualifies for the PUD's rebate. We price both options so you can compare.
Our Everett branch serves Snohomish inside city limits and the surrounding 98290 and 98296 areas, along with Everett, Lake Stevens, Mill Creek and Monroe.
It depends on the furnace type and efficiency, venting, gas and duct work and where it goes. Our free instant quote tool gives a price range in about 30 seconds, and a free in-home estimate gives you a written, upfront price.
Yes. Inside city limits the mechanical permit goes through the City of Snohomish permit portal; outside city limits, through Snohomish County Planning and Development Services. We pull the required permits for every installation.
As of October 2026, neither PSE nor Snohomish PUD offers a rebate for a gas furnace on its own. PSE pays $1,500 for adding a ducted heat pump to a gas furnace, and Snohomish PUD pays $1,800 or $2,500 for a ducted heat pump in an electrically heated home.
Natural gas comes from Puget Sound Energy and electricity from Snohomish County PUD. Which rebates apply depends on how your home is heated.
It depends on your home and goals. A heat pump adds cooling and usually lowers heating costs, a dual fuel system keeps the gas furnace as backup, and a high-efficiency gas furnace has the lowest upfront cost. We price the options side by side at the estimate.
Replacement swaps an existing furnace for a new one. Installation also covers adding a furnace where there was none or changing systems, which can mean new venting, a gas line or duct work. Both start with a Manual J load calculation and need a permit.
The right size comes from a room-by-room load calculation (ACCA Manual J), not from the size of the old furnace or a rule of thumb. Oversized furnaces short cycle and wear out sooner.
Most gas furnaces last about 15 to 20 years with yearly maintenance. A furnace tune-up is $230, or $180 for Home Comfort Club members.
New installations come with a 3-year Comfort Shield labor warranty, kept active with yearly maintenance, and first-year maintenance is included. We also support the manufacturer warranty on covered parts.
