The City of Redmond issues and inspects electrical permits inside city limits through the Redmond ePermitting Service (REPS). Its residential fee sheet (effective February 1, 2026) lists a new or altered service at $192.03, a subpanel at $96.02 and a generator at $48.00; those are the city's permit fees, not our prices. Homes in unincorporated areas with a Redmond address, such as Redmond Ridge, Trilogy, Union Hill and Novelty Hill, get electrical permits from Washington L&I. We pull the required permits for our work.
For a panel or service upgrade, PSE energizes the new service only after it passes electrical inspection, and only PSE sets or removes the meter; the meter base and mast belong to the homeowner (PSE Customer Construction Services, 1-888-321-7779). We coordinate the inspection and PSE's part of the job.
Redmond mixes established neighborhoods with townhomes and new construction. Older homes can have panels with no spare spaces, aluminum branch wiring from the late 1960s and early 1970s, or kitchens and garages sharing an overloaded circuit. In newer homes, the calls are usually EV chargers, added circuits and smart panels. Either way, we check the load and the panel first and give you a written price.
PSE offers up to $300 for a qualifying ENERGY STAR smart Level 2 charger, and income-qualified customers can get up to $600 plus up to $2,000 toward installation; apply within 60 days of installation (PSE EV charger rebate, read November 4, 2026). The federal 30C credit ended June 30, 2026. We currently offer $200 off an EV charger install and $200 off an electrical panel upgrade. Bigger projects have their own pages: panel upgrades, EV charger installation and standby generators.
In late October 2026, ahead of storm season, a Redmond homeowner (98052) wanted their gas furnace to keep running from a battery backup during outages. Our electrician installed a 20-amp single-circuit transfer switch, connected it to the furnace and supplied a 20-amp cord for the battery, so the furnace can switch to battery power without backfeeding the house wiring.

Upfront prices before any work begins, a $179 visit that includes 30 minutes of diagnosis, electricians from our Redmond branch, and one company for electrical, heating, cooling and plumbing. Since 1977.
