Available

Qualifying households may receive energy-efficiency improvements such as:

Washington Commerce states that household eligibility may be based on income up to
200% of the federal poverty level, 60% of State Median Income, or 80% of Area Median Income.

This is generally an assistance program delivered through local agencies rather than a traditional cash-back consumer rebate.

• Heat pumps
• Electrical panels and wiring
• Insulation
• Air sealing
• Ventilation
• Appliances
• Whole-home energy-efficiency upgrades

Washington Commerce is still preparing statewide program operations.

Homeowners with a qualifying 2025 installation should consult a tax professional regarding their 2025 tax return.

Federal Tax Credit

Section 30C EV Charger Credit

Ended June 30, 2026

For qualifying residential installations completed before the expiration date, the credit could equal:

30% of eligible costs

up to

$1,000 per charging port

The credit does not apply to EV charging equipment placed in service after June 30, 2026.

For earlier qualifying installations, the home also had to be located within an eligible census tract and meet federal requirements.

Important: Rebate and Tax Credit Programs Can Change

Rebate availability, funding, income limits, equipment requirements, program administrators, tax laws, and eligibility rules may change without notice. Home Comfort Alliance can help identify programs that may apply to your project, but final rebate eligibility is determined by the applicable utility, city, state, or program administrator. Tax credits are governed by federal law and IRS requirements. Home Comfort Alliance does not provide tax advice. Homeowners should confirm tax eligibility with the IRS and/or a qualified tax professional.

Sam and Mario did a fantastic job installing our new gas furnace. They demonstrated great customer service and the attention to detail: they put new gas valve, power supply for in-duct purifier, condensing water pump, new filter cabinet + filter that Sam had to step out to shop for, etc. They even upgraded our thermostat's wiring to match the new 2-stage furnace (without hard-defining a timed cutoff on the filter board). I appreciate very much that they did these without us having to ask or monitor, but rather to do a high-quality job (they worked for 6+ hours and took care of everything!). Thank you folks for the great job! We also a good experience with the initial consultant (Vince) who did a thorough job of estimating our new furnace specs. We found them through Costco (Lennox). Our pricing included the 15% costco cash card; their overall quote was reasonable and competitive as well (lower than some of the other quotes we had). We are very happy with the install and service, and would happily recommend this business.

We had an urgent/emergent heat pump issue early in the morning causing power surges in our home. Called Home Comfort Alliance prior to business hours and was able to talk to a representative who passed our message along. Got a call back at 7:00 AM and was told a senior technician would be out between 9-12. He arrived by 10:15 AM and diagnosed and repaired the problem within 45 minutes. We’ve used this company before for our heat pump and they’ve always been timely, professional and pleasant to deal with. Highly recommend.

Josh arrived on time ready to work early in the am. He educated me on a failing capacitor and was able to switch it out while cleaning up the carbon buildup in the gas furnace. He was great at selling additional services by asking about my hot water heater. One of those,"I'll get to it someday" tasks of draining the hot water tank to get out mineral and metal at the bottom allowing the tank to work more efficiently and extend the tanks life. He was able to complete it while here and for a reasonable fee since he was already here. Good experience all around! I would highly recommend Josh and Home Comfort Alliance.

Great company, great service, great employees. A year later, a different tech--Dan--came to perform one year warranty check on our site handler. PSE Heat Pump & HVAC Rebates | Puget Sound | Home Comfort Alliance
Skip to main content

Confirm eligibility before choosing equipment. Rebates are not guaranteed. PSE determines final eligibility, and rules can depend on your utility account, existing heating source, home type, equipment model, contractor path, installation date, and documentation. Federal 25C tax credit language should not be promoted as a current 2026 installation incentive because IRS guidance says the credit is not allowed for property placed in service after December 31, 2025.

Which rebate path might fit your home?

A strong rebate strategy starts with your existing system. Use these common scenarios to understand what to ask about during your Home Comfort Alliance consultation.

Homes with PSE natural gas or dual fuel may need to review hybrid heat pump rules or income-qualified fuel-switching options. See gas to heat pump conversion.

Do I automatically qualify if I install a heat pump?

No. Eligibility can depend on your PSE account, home type, current heating system, new equipment, contractor requirements, installation date, and documentation.

Can electric baseboard heat qualify for a rebate?

Possibly. PSE lists an electric resistance to air-source heat pump conversion rebate for qualifying single-family residential electric customers replacing eligible primary electric resistance heat.

Can a gas furnace home qualify?

Possibly. PSE lists a hybrid heat pump rebate for qualifying natural gas or dual-fuel customers and a separate income-qualified natural gas to heat pump rebate path.

Are federal 25C credits available for 2026 installations?

IRS guidance states the 25C Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit is not allowed for property placed in service after December 31, 2025. Ask a tax professional about prior-year projects.

Frequently Asked Questions

Heat Pump Rebate & Tax Credit FAQs

Rebate eligibility can vary by utility, city, existing heating system, equipment, income qualification, and program rules.
These answers can help you understand where to start.

How do I know which rebate program applies to my home?
Start with the electric and natural-gas utilities shown on your bills, then confirm your city boundary, current heating fuel, household income, equipment type, and contractor requirements. A mailing address alone does not determine which utility or local rebate program applies.

Can I combine utility, city, state, and manufacturer rebates?
Sometimes. Rebate stacking rules are program-specific. Some local programs may be combined with qualifying utility or manufacturer incentives, while others specifically prohibit combining certain offers. Confirm stacking rules before equipment is ordered or installed.

Do I need an approved or participating contractor?
For many heat-pump programs, yes. PSE, Snohomish PUD, Tacoma Power, and several city programs require a participating, registered, or approved contractor. Seattle City Light heat-pump discounts also generally flow through participating distributors and contractors. Contractor requirements should be confirmed before installation.

What PSE heat pump rebates are available in 2026?
PSE currently lists several residential heat-pump rebate pathways. Examples include a
$1,500 standard rebate or
$2,400 Efficiency Boost rebate
for several qualifying heat-pump projects. PSE also lists a
$4,000 income-qualified rebate
for certain natural-gas-to-electric heat-pump conversions.Program requirements, equipment eligibility, rebate amounts, and available funding can change, so eligibility should be confirmed before equipment is selected or purchased.

Does every heat pump qualify for a rebate?
No. Eligibility can depend on your utility service, existing primary heating system, home type, equipment model, efficiency ratings, contractor pathway, installation date, and required documentation. The applicable utility or program administrator makes the final eligibility determination.

Are there income-qualified heat pump rebate programs?
Yes. Several programs offer enhanced incentives for qualifying households, including PSE Efficiency Boost, Energize Shoreline, Peninsula Light income-qualified programs, Washington State HEAR, Weatherization Assistance, and other locally administered programs. Income limits, funding, application steps, and eligible equipment vary by program.

Are federal heat pump tax credits still available in 2026?
The federal Section 25C Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit is not available for qualifying property placed in service after
December 31, 2025.
Homeowners who completed a qualifying project during 2025 may still want to review IRS requirements when preparing their 2025 tax return.Home Comfort Alliance does not provide tax advice. Consult IRS guidance or a qualified tax professional regarding tax-credit eligibility.

Should I apply for a rebate before installing my new system?
Check the program requirements first. Some incentives require preapproval, enrollment, a workshop, an approved contractor, or other steps before equipment is purchased or installation begins. Completing the project first can make a homeowner ineligible for certain programs.

Still Not Sure Which Rebate Applies?

Home Comfort Alliance can help you identify the utility, city, state, and income-qualified programs that may apply before you choose your equipment.
