Gas lines, venting and earthquake details
Olympia has felt strong earthquakes before, most recently the 2001 Nisqually quake, so we pay attention to how a new furnace is connected and secured. Gas connections use approved flexible connectors with a shutoff valve at the appliance, the unit sits level and secured on its platform or stand, and venting is supported so it can’t pull apart.
