Home Comfort Alliance's licensed plumbers handle leaks, drains, water heaters and repiping for Kent homes from our Sumner branch. The plumbing dispatch fee is $99, the plumber quotes the repair on site, and you get the price before any work begins. Book by phone or online. Our plumbers work Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with same-day service when possible.
We work on houses only, under WA Plumbing Contractor Lic. #HOMECCA751QG (residential). We clear indoor drains, including main drain lines from an indoor cleanout. We don't do sewer line work.
Turn off the water to the house first. That stops the damage while you wait for a plumber, and it takes less than a minute once you know where the valve is.
Our plumbers work weekdays, so a leak found in the evening or on a weekend is booked for the first business-hours appointment. Current offer: $50 off burst or frozen pipe repairs. For more on finding hidden leaks, see leak detection and repair.
Our plumbers handle the everyday plumbing in a Kent house, from a dripping faucet to a whole-home repipe.

Most Kent homes get their water from the City of Kent, but not all of them. According to the City of Kent Water System Plan, the city's own system covers the majority of the city, and other areas inside city limits are served by Soos Creek Water and Sewer District, Highline Water District, Lake Meridian Water District or the City of Renton.
The quickest way to know which one serves your home is your water bill: the name at the top is your water utility. It matters when you need the water turned off at the street, have a question about the meter or your bill, or are looking for rebates and water-quality reports. Our plumbers work on the pipes, fixtures and water heater in and around your home, whichever utility supplies the water.
Kent homes sit on the valley floor, in Downtown Kent and the Kent Valley, and on the hills above it, including East Hill and the Lake Meridian area, and water pressure can differ from one street to the next. Many homes have a pressure-reducing valve (PRV) where the water line enters the house to keep pressure in a safe range for pipes, fixtures and the water heater.
Signs your PRV needs a look:
Our plumber tests the incoming pressure, checks the PRV and quotes a replacement on site if it has failed. A PRV check is also part of every plumbing inspection.
Repair makes sense when the tank is sound and the problem is a part, such as a heating element, thermostat or gas control. Replace it when the tank itself leaks, the water runs rusty, or repairs keep coming back on an older unit.
Comparing types? Read tank vs tankless water heaters and our water heater cost guide.
We clear indoor drains, including main drain lines from an indoor cleanout. We don't do sewer line work.
A quick way to tell the difference: if one sink, tub or toilet is slow, the clog is in that fixture's drain. If flushing a toilet makes water come up in a tub, shower or floor drain on the lowest level, the main drain line inside the house is the likely spot, and we clear it from an indoor cleanout. If sewage comes up from a yard cleanout, or roots keep coming back, the problem is in the sewer line outside the house, and you'll need a sewer contractor. Tell us what you see when you book, and we'll tell you honestly if it isn't a job for us.
Drain cleaning is $148, with the $99 dispatch fee charged on top; hydro jet cleaning is $399 to $574.
Usually yes. The City of Kent Permit Center issues plumbing and mechanical permits for work such as water heater replacement, repiping and gas piping, and we pull the required permits for every installation.
On the City of Kent's Mechanical/Plumbing Permit Application, electric water heaters are listed under plumbing fixtures and gas water heaters under mechanical equipment, so the type of tank decides which permit applies. The Permit Center is at 400 W. Gowe in Kent; details are on the City of Kent Permit Center site.
A repipe is worth considering when the same pipes keep failing. Kent has a mix of older and newer houses, and older piping tends to show its age in a few ways:
Our plumber inspects the pipes first, explains what is failing and gives you a written price for whole-home repiping before any work begins. Financing is available for larger jobs. See how repiping works and plumbing problems in older Puget Sound homes.
Renting? We can book the visit when you're the one paying for it; otherwise we'll take your landlord's details and call them.
In August 2026 our plumbers serviced a tankless water heater in a Kent home. They descaled the unit, cleaned its filter, checked that the temperature and pressure relief valve was working and confirmed a clean blue burner flame.
Yearly maintenance like this keeps a tankless water heater running efficiently and catches small problems before they turn into a cold shower.
