How much is the Snohomish PUD heat pump rebate?
Snohomish County PUD pays $1,800 for a qualifying ducted heat pump and $2,500 for a ducted inverter-driven heat pump, in homes where electricity is the main heat source. The work has to be done by a PUD registered contractor, who applies the rebate to your first bill and sends the application to the PUD. Who qualifies?
PUD customers who own a single-family or manufactured home, or a townhouse or condo in a building of up to four homes, where electric heat (baseboards, wall heaters or an electric furnace) is the primary heat source. Snohomish PUD serves Snohomish County and Camano Island, including Everett, Mill Creek, Lake Stevens, Snohomish, Edmonds, Lynnwood, Monroe, Mukilteo, Marysville and north Bothell. Homes heated mainly with gas don't qualify for the PUD heat pump rebate; see stacking below.
Ductless systems and replacing an old heat pump
The PUD's heating rebate page lists ducted heat pumps only today; ductless mini-splits are not listed. We still install ductless systems as a Mitsubishi Electric Diamond Dealer and check the PUD's current list before we quote. The page also doesn't say whether replacing an existing heat pump counts as a conversion, so ask us before you buy and we'll check with the PUD for your home.

Every installation starts with a room-by-room ACCA Manual J load calculation, so the heat pump meets the PUD's specs and fits the house. How to claim the PUD rebate, step by step
- Book a free in-home estimate. We confirm you're a PUD customer and that electric heat is your primary heat.
- We choose a ducted heat pump that meets the PUD's HSPF2 and SEER2 levels for the rebate you want.
- We install it and pass the permit inspection.
- We apply the rebate to your first bill and send the application to the PUD; you don't file the heat pump claim yourself.
- For a thermostat or water heater you buy yourself, keep the retailer receipt and apply within 90 days.
A recent Everett heat pump installation
In October 2026 we installed a Lennox Elite 2-ton variable-capacity inverter heat pump system with a new air handler and a MERV 11 media filter in an Everett home. Rated 17.9 SEER2 and 9.9 HSPF2 (AHRI 218636317), it clears the PUD's specs for the $2,500 inverter-driven tier, which applies when electric heat is the home's primary heat source.

Stacking PUD rebates with PSE and HEAR
The PUD says its rebates can't be combined with other utility rebates unless the PUD approves in writing, so we check which option pays you the most. If PSE supplies your gas, PSE's gas-side rebates may apply instead; we confirm eligibility on your account before quoting (PSE rebates). Snohomish PUD says it was not awarded HEAR funds in this round, so there is no PUD income-qualified HEAR rebate in 2026 (Washington HEAR rebates).
Ended or not listed
The federal 25C tax credit ended for equipment installed after December 31, 2025. Snohomish PUD's $50 EV charger rebate ended December 31, 2025. Older guides still show a $1,500 PUD heat pump tier; today's tiers are $1,800 and $2,500.

Is there a heat pump water heater rebate?
Yes. The PUD offers up to $1,000 for a qualifying heat pump water heater that replaces an existing water heater. Apply within 90 days of the invoice date.
Is there a smart thermostat rebate?
Yes. $75 for a qualifying smart thermostat in a home heated by an electric forced-air furnace or ducted heat pump, and $50 per line-voltage thermostat. You claim it within 90 days.
Can I combine PUD and other rebates?
