Home Comfort Alliance provides after-hours emergency service for heating and air conditioning across the Seattle-Tacoma area and the wider Puget Sound region. Our phones are answered after hours for heating and cooling emergencies at (425) 645-0404, and our HVAC technicians work after hours in every city we serve. Plumbing and electrical service can be booked by phone or online too: our plumbers and electricians work Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with same-day service when possible.
Danger first. Smell gas or hear a carbon monoxide alarm? Leave the home and call 911 or your gas utility from outside: PSE 1-888-225-5773 or Cascade Natural Gas 888-522-1130. Smoke or fire: call 911.
Most home emergencies have one safe first step you can take before help arrives. Heating and cooling problems get a technician after hours; plumbing and electrical problems are made safe now and booked for the first available business-hours visit. Find your situation:
| Emergency | Do this first | Then |
|---|---|---|
| Gas smell | Leave, leave the door open, don't flip switches or use a landline | Call 911 or the gas utility from outside |
| Carbon monoxide alarm or symptoms | Get everyone into fresh air | Call 911; have fuel-burning equipment checked before reuse |
| No heat in freezing weather | Check thermostat, breaker and filter; gather in one warm room | Call us (emergency furnace repair) |
| No cooling in extreme heat | Check thermostat and breaker; move vulnerable people somewhere cool | Call us |
| Burst pipe or water spreading | Shut the main water valve | Book a plumber by phone or online; visits are Monday to Friday, 8 to 5, same-day when possible |
| Water heater leaking | Turn off its cold water supply and its gas or power | Book a plumber by phone or online; visits are Monday to Friday, 8 to 5, same-day when possible |
| Burning smell or sparks at an outlet or panel | Don't touch the panel; turn off the circuit only if it is safe to reach | Call 911 for smoke or fire; then book an electrician for the first available business-hours visit |
| Power out on one part of the home | Check for a tripped breaker once; don't keep resetting it | For a neighborhood outage, call your utility; otherwise book an electrician by phone or online, same-day when possible |

Home Comfort Alliance handles emergency furnace, heat pump, ductless and air conditioning repair after hours for qualifying emergencies, for all major brands, in every city we serve. Heating calls spike on the first cold nights of fall and during winter freezes; cooling calls spike in heat waves like June 2021.
Our licensed plumbers work Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. You can book a visit by phone or online, and we schedule the first available opening, same-day when possible, for burst pipes, leaks, water heaters and backed-up indoor drains in homes. Until then, shut the main water valve; most homes have it where the water line enters, often in a basement, crawl space or garage. Home Comfort Alliance plumbing work is residential, and we don't do sewer line work.
Our licensed electricians work Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. You can book a visit by phone or online, and we schedule the first available opening, same-day when possible, for burning smells, sparking outlets or panels, breakers that keep tripping and partial power loss. Until then, turn off the affected circuit only if it is safe to reach, and don't open or work inside the panel. Call 911 for smoke or fire. If the whole neighborhood is dark, the problem is the utility's, so call your electric utility to report the outage.
Every Home Comfort Alliance job is priced upfront: you approve the price before any work begins. Our published service fees are below; after-hours HVAC calls add a $330 after-hours fee. Updated October 2026.

An HVAC emergency is a gas smell, a carbon monoxide alarm, burning smells, smoke or sparks from equipment, no heat in freezing weather, or no cooling during extreme heat for someone vulnerable to it. A gas smell or CO alarm means leave first and call 911 or the gas utility from outside.
Home Comfort Alliance charges a $330 after-hours fee for emergency HVAC calls, alongside the $119 HVAC dispatch fee and a $72 standard or $130 deeper diagnostic fee. The repair price is quoted upfront and approved by you before any work begins.
Yes. After-hours calls cost more than daytime appointments because technicians work nights, weekends and holidays. If your home is safe and comfortable enough to wait, booking the next available daytime visit avoids the after-hours fee.
Stop the water first: shut off the main water valve for a burst or leaking pipe, or the cold water supply and gas or power for a leaking water heater. Then book a plumber by phone or online. Our plumbers work Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, and we schedule the first available visit, same-day when possible. Home Comfort Alliance plumbing is residential.
Call 911 for smoke or fire. For a whole-neighborhood outage, call your electric utility. For a burning smell or heat at an outlet or panel, sparking, or a breaker that trips again as soon as you reset it, turn off that circuit if it is safe to reach and stop using it, then book an electrician. Our electricians work Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, same-day when possible.
HVAC calls after hours carry a $330 after-hours fee. Plumbing and electrical work is scheduled Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, so those trades have no after-hours charge. You always get the price before any work begins.
