In the Seattle-Tacoma / Puget Sound region, cold, damp winters demand a heating system you can rely on. At Home Comfort Alliance, we specialize in replacing old, inefficient systems and installing brand new ones tailored to your home’s layout, energy goals, and local climate. Whether you’re upgrading a furnace, installing a heat pump, or building new construction, our licensed, local technicians deliver warmth, efficiency, and peace of mind. Switching fuels? See our guides to gas to heat pump conversion and oil to heat pump conversion.
Every installation starts with a free in-home estimate and a room-by-room load calculation (ACCA Manual J), so the new system is sized to your home. We pull the required permits for every installation and give you an upfront, written price before any work begins. Want a ballpark first? | System | How it heats | Often the best fit for | Learn more |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gas furnace | Burns natural gas or propane and moves warm air through your ducts | Homes with gas service and ducts that want strong heat on the coldest days | Furnace replacement, repair, tune-ups |
| Electric furnace | Electric heating elements warm the air | Ducted homes without gas; a heat pump uses much less electricity for the same heat | Furnace replacement |
| Ducted heat pump | Moves heat from the outdoor air into your home, and cools in summer | Homes with ducts; the system most utility rebates support | Heat pump installation, cost guide |
| Ductless mini-split | A heat pump with wall or ceiling heads in each room, no ducts needed | Homes heated by baseboards, additions and rooms the ducts don't reach | Ductless mini-splits, baseboard to heat pump |
| Dual fuel (hybrid) | A heat pump does most of the heating and a gas furnace takes over in deep cold | Gas-heated homes that want to keep a furnace as backup | Gas to heat pump conversion |
Heating with oil? See oil to heat pump conversion; we also tune up oil furnaces. We service and repair boilers, but we don't install new ones.
We install and service all major brands. Home Comfort Alliance is a Mitsubishi Electric Diamond Dealer, a Carrier Factory Authorized Dealer and a Lennox Premier Dealer.
We've received your request, and a team member will reach out shortly.
Your price depends on your home's heating and cooling needs, the add-ons you need, how many rooms the system serves and where it's installed. Get a price range in about 30 seconds with our free instant quote tool, then a technician confirms the exact price on a free site visit.
For reference, Angi's regional estimate for a heat pump installation in Seattle averages $10,218, and most homeowners pay $6,667 to $13,852 (July 2026). That's a third-party estimate, not a Home Comfort Alliance price. See our heat pump cost guide and furnace replacement page for more.

In October 2026 our install team replaced a Kirkland home's gas furnace with a Carrier Infinity 98 modulating, variable-speed gas furnace in the same location. The crew reused the existing ductwork, venting, condensate drain, electrical circuit, filtration and air conditioner, and installed a new Carrier Infinity Touch Wi-Fi thermostat. The new equipment was registered for its warranty.

Your price depends on the system, your home's heating needs, the add-ons you need and where it's installed. Get a price range in about 30 seconds with our free instant quote tool, then a technician confirms the exact price on a free site visit. For reference, Angi's regional estimate for a heat pump installation in Seattle averages $10,218 (July 2026); that's not a Home Comfort Alliance price.
It depends on the system, any ductwork or electrical work, and the permit process in your city. Your technician gives you a schedule with your written estimate at the free in-home visit.
ENERGY STAR suggests considering replacement when a heat pump is more than 10 years old or a furnace is more than 15 years old, or when it needs frequent repairs or your energy bills keep rising. If the repair is small and the system is younger, repair usually makes more sense.
We pull the required permits for every installation. At the estimate we check your ductwork and electrical capacity; some heat pump installations need a new circuit or a panel upgrade, which our licensed electricians handle.
Both work here. A heat pump heats and cools with electricity and is the system most utility rebates support. A gas furnace gives strong heat on the coldest days. Many gas-heated homes keep the furnace as backup and add a heat pump (dual fuel). The room-by-room load calculation at your estimate shows which fits your home.
Cold-climate heat pumps keep heating well below freezing. PSE's cold-climate standard, for example, calls for a coefficient of performance of at least 1.75 at 5°F. Ducted heat pumps can also have backup heat strips, or you can keep a gas furnace as backup with a dual fuel system.
Late spring through early fall, before you need steady heat, gives you the most flexibility to compare options and schedule the work. If your furnace fails in winter we can still replace it, and heating technicians are available after hours for qualifying emergencies ($330 after-hours fee).
It depends on your utility. PSE, Tacoma Power, Seattle City Light, Snohomish PUD and Energy Smart Eastside offer heat pump rebates, Cascade Natural Gas offers high-efficiency furnace rebates, and Seattle's Clean Heat program helps oil-heated homes switch to a heat pump. The federal 25C tax credit ended after December 31, 2025. We confirm what applies before you sign and handle the paperwork for PSE, Tacoma Power and Cascade rebates.
We service and repair boilers, but we don't install new ones. If you're replacing a boiler, we'll show you heat pump options, which are often ductless.
